Based on performance during the 90s, who was the best heavyweight fighter of the 1990s and why?

Holmes did his best work before the 90s. Close run thing between Tyson, Bowe and Holyfield. If you leave all the troubles and controversy aside then you'd have to go with Tyson who demolished many great fighters in the early 90s.

HAnds down, it is Tyson. EVERYONE was afraid to fight his guy. Until he tasted his own blood, he was unbeatable.

If we are talking strictly hitting and not sportsmanship, my vote goes to Tyson. I don't know that anyone instilled more fear in other boxers than he did. He didn't earn a lot of respect in my opinion, just fear. So he gets my vote, but I think I would be remiss if I didn't say when it comes to sportsmanship it would be Foreman. I guess though that sportsmanship isn't really what the fans want to watch.

RE: Best Heavyweight of the 1990s

How is Mike Tyson the best of the nineties? He was beaten by Holyfield and Lennox, and you still think that he was a better fighter. Obviously you guys dont know how to think this crap through. Wonder whats going through your mind, 'hmmm, Mike Tyson got his butt whupped by Evander Holyfield AND Lennox Lewis. He MUST still be the best then!!!!!' Really! How can he be the best?
