Greatest boxing trilogy

What are your thoughts on the greatest boxing trilogies of all time. I would think Ali-Frazier would have to be at the top of the list. Those three fights took a tremendous toll on both fighters. There have been others. What are your favorites?

RE: Greatest boxing trilogy

There have been many great trilogies, perhaps the most famous being Ali/Frazier fought in 1972,1974 and 1975. Bowe and Holyfield had three good bouts in the 90s. And in modern times, Marco Antonio Barrera/Erik Morales rate highly.

Oh. How could I forget my favorite? Gatti/Ward! Freakin' amazing fights. Beat the crap of each other, and then hugged at the end? How can friends do that to each other? Absolutely brutal.

RE: Greatest boxing trilogy

Yeah man......I have thought of a few more Boxing Trilogies...
1, Sugar Ray Leonard/ Roberto Duran: 3 classic fights between 2 class operaters.
2, Muhammad Ali/ Ken Norton: Hard fought heavyweight action with jaws being broken...
3, Tony Zale/Rocky Graziano: the Gatti/ Ward trilogies of the 50`s...

RE: Greatest boxing trilogy

The Gatti/Ward fight was awesome. I like the fights between Jake LaMotta and Sugar Ray Robinson, though it was not 3 fights, but 6
