Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather II

Tell me who you think will win the rematch. I think that De La Hoya will win by points. The fight will be in September of 2008.

I hope your right my friend, I am a big DLH fan, went to the first fight and will hope to get myself across the pond for the re match...I hope he can work on his stamina because if it wasnt for him tiring down the home stretch he would have won the first fight.

RE: Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather II

Well you are entitled to your opinion and I geuss I cant change that. But I can tell you that after De La Hoya lost that fight, he became hungry for the title. Most of the time when great champions lose title fights is because they are not hungry for the title. Then they dont work out as much and they dont fight with the determination that they used to. I believe that was what happened to De La Hoya last year. Dont get me wrong, Mayweather is a great fighter, but I think that he will have lost that fire and determination to stay the best by the time of the fight. If not, it will happen soon. I think that it is the duty of the champions to take on all comers to prove to everybody that they are, in fact, the best. Many great champions failed to do so. I think that the same thing is happening with Mayweather that happened to Jack Johnson. Jack Johnson hadnt defended his title for 3 years, and then he decided to take on the Pottawatomie Giant, Jess Willard. Willard was 6'6" and 240 pounds. Johnson looked like he had trained for a pie eating contest rather than a championship fight. Johnson did not have the physiqe to go past the 23rd round. I dont think that Mayweather will be in as good of shape as he was when he fought De La Hoya in the last fight. But De La Hoya will be more determined to get his title back and will be fitter than Mayweather. And I really hope that Hoya is also faster, stronger, and more endured.
