Having a high protein diet is pretty much the key to building muscle. You need protein to balance and build muscle stature. Without a high protein diet, professional athletes of today probably wouldn't be as big or as great as they are today. So kids, make sure you get your protein in to build those muscles!
Protein should be based on your level of workouts. I recommend natural protein like low fat dairy, eggs, and lean meats. If you workout regularly with weights you can also supplement your protein intake with whey protein powder.
The standard for body building is .8 grams of protein per pound of body weight on lifting days and slightly less on off days. If you do not lift or do other weight training, you should avoid a high protein diet. Just make sure even with your high protein dies that you do limit your good carbs, they are need to build good muscles.
