[COLOR=Black]Hey guys,
I'm new here. I joined because I want to be an amateur boxer. First, of course, I want to train for a good year or so. Boxing is something I've always had an interest in. It helps me stay fit, stay sane, and have fun! I really want to get in on some fights..

I watch a lot of movies and classic fights. There are some techniques I would love to learn. I'm in the midwest.. And I'm wondering where the best gyms and trainers are at. I want to train hard more than win. but winning is a goal!

I'm a 21 year old female and i wanna be 10x stronger, 20x more fit, and 30 times faster and harder! Can someone lead me in the right direction??
::Please Register To See URLs:: The first show, Sunday June 8 from 1-2pm, will be especially important to listen to because I'll be detailing each round of fitness. Some of the rounds are self explanatory, some are not. But each "Round" of fitness encompasses more than you think.

You can listen on the radio in Kansas City or live on the internet at ::Please Register To See URLs:: for those out of towners. Sundays 1-2pm. Eventually, I will have podcasting.

Hey, what's up?
I am doing a little research on Boxing and Ocular Injuries (I am an optometry student) and I am looking for some input from the boxing community. If you guys could touch base on a few questions from personal experience I would really appreciate it.
What does it take to get a boxing license; are there specific vision requirements?
Are contact lenses allowed to be worn during a match?
What type of injuries to the eye have been a result from boxing (black eye, fracture, retinal detachment, etc.)?
How many/how often do you get an ocular injury, if at all?
Besides trying not to get hit, obviously, is there anything specific you guys do to prevent from getting hit in the eyes?
I have heard of thumb-less boxing gloves which are meant to help prevent eye injuries, anyone use these or even heard of them? comments.

Any thing else you might want to throw my way would also be very helpful.

Thanks
